There are no positive chemical or structural tests available to diagnose IBS. Many people find it more difficult to deal with irritable bowel syndrome after a few months of subsided syndromes. People with IBS more commonly than others have gastroesophageal reflux, symptoms relating to the genitourinary system, psychological symptoms, fibromyalgia, headache and backache. So far, conventional medicine has been at a loss to make the symptoms go away or to make them go away well enough for us to actually feel better.
